Frisco ADHD Management Pediatrician
“Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most common neurobehavioral disorder of childhood,” and its presence can affect many facets of a child’s behavior, growth, and development. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) strongly encourages the primary care practitioner to be able to assess and initiate management of your child’s symptoms of ADHD. However, there are many pediatricians who do not feel comfortable doing so.
I have had several years of experience in evaluating and managing children with ADHD symptoms, and strive to work with the parents to come up with treatment options that fit each individual child’s behavior needs and circumstances. Let us help you manage ADHD diagnosis for your child. Our Frisco office is easy to find. We are located at the Baylor Medical Center at Legacy and Warren Parkway.
My goal in ADHD treatment plan is to help the child attain his/her full potential and to learn strategies for coping with ADHD symptoms in order to become successful, both in the child’s mental health, school, and overall life.
Our Approach to ADHD Management
At Entirely Kids Pediatrics, we believe in a comprehensive approach to managing ADHD. Dr. Leung follows the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines, which recommend a multifaceted treatment plan. This plan may include behavior therapy, modifications or accommodations in the child’s school environment, and medication therapy when appropriate. We work closely with families to tailor treating ADHD to each child’s unique needs and circumstances, ensuring that the child can thrive both academically and personally with their mental health.
Behavioral Therapy and School Accommodations
One of the key components of our ADHD management plan is behavioral therapy. This therapy focuses on teaching children strategies to manage their symptoms, improve their focus, and develop better organizational skills. In addition, we collaborate with the child’s school to implement necessary accommodations, such as extended test time, seating arrangements, or modified assignments, to support your child’s behavior and learning experience.
Medication Therapy for ADHD
While behavioral therapy and partnering with the child’s teacher school accommodations are important, medication therapy can also play a crucial role in managing ADHD symptoms. Dr. Leung carefully evaluates each child’s ability to determine if medication is appropriate and works with families to monitor its effectiveness and make any necessary adjustments. Our goal is to find the right balance that allows your child to succeed without compromising their well-being.
Ongoing Support and Monitoring
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a condition that requires ongoing attention and care. At Entirely Kids Pediatrics, we provide continuous support and monitoring to ensure that your child’s treatment plan remains effective as they grow and their needs change. Regular check-ups with Dr. Leung allow us to adjust the treatment as needed and provide additional resources or support to help your child succeed.
